bringing design into the play of small press role-playing games on the UK convention scene
playdesignplay and the London Indie RPG Meetup are hosting the Fiasco Playset Design Day in London on Saturday the 12th of February in 2011.
What is the Fiasco Playset Design Day?
It’s a friendly event where folk gather in a delightful pub south of the river of an afternoon to create playsets for the Fiasco role-playing game and then play the heck out of them.
There will be banter, brainstorming, laughs, crazysomekindofcool ideas, fun with crayolas, and beer and fine wines too. It’s going to be a creative, fun winter’s afternoon, and at the end of it all you’ll have probably made some new friends and you’ll also have a nice playset to show off as well.
How is the event structured?
The folk behind playdesignplay will be there to make sure that you get plenty of bang for your buck out of the day.
We’ve thought about how best to structure the event so that the awesome in everyone is brought to the fore.
playdesignplay will make the created playsets available for public download in the week or so following the event.
Is this a competition?
This is just a fun event, it’s not a competition.
We’ll be splitting into groups in order to create the playsets that we’ll swap and play later in the afternoon, but there’s no competitive element at all.
Okay, it sounds interesting! What do I need to bring?
Just bring yourself.
You don’t need any special designer kung fu or much of anything else really. The event itself is free, but do have a few quid in your pocket so that the pub that is letting us use their space benefits from your custom.
If you are planning on coming, you can help us out by joining the London Indie Games Meetup group and RSVPing. You could also drop us a tweet to the same effect @playdesignplay if you don’t fancy signing up.
What are those details again?
Here you go, we hope to see you there.
